Ron West is deep in the tank as he tries to figure out whether to undershove into the turn bet of chipleader David Kluchman on a board of 7♦5♥3♥4♣. He counts out his own chips, sees he is 300,000 shy of the 700k bet Kluchman has out on the felt, and makes the undershove.

Tank-kins Gets Clock Called

For the second time in the last 6 hands in Day 2 of the Masters Poker Series, with 12 players left, Shawn Rice has moved all in over a bet from the very patient, methodical Mike Hopkins.
The first time, Hopkins tanked for close to three minutes before laying down A♣T♣, seeing Rice flip over 77 and rake in the pot.

This time Rice calls the clock as the Tank is equally as long.

Tournament Director Paul Campbell begins the final countdown from 10, and Hopkins shouts out F*** when he reaches 5, grumbles more and tosses A♣Q♠ down face up while mucking.

Rice shows A♦Q♦ ...

same hand ..

Yeates Gets Some Back

Todd Anderson bets out 40,000 on the 7♣2♦2♣J♦ turn, is called by Norman Hall and folds to the 135,000 3-bet by Scott Yeates.

Hayes and Yeates check the river, Yeates showing J♣5♦ and Hall mucking without showing.

"I had two clubs there," said Hall.

"I had the best hand there, I just screwed up," said Anderson, who later told the table he had QJ.
"Nice bet there," he said to Yeates.

"Yeah, pretty hard to call there," Yeates added.

Anderson Doubles

Todd Anderson, founder of Poker Night in America, moves all in from the hijack and is called fron the button by Scott Yeates.

Anderson - K♥Q♦
Yeates - J♣J♥

The flop is all in Yeates' favor as the 3♦4♦A♣ falls.
The 8♦ turn is no help for Anderson, but when the Q♠ hits the river, Anderson moves his chips out, and Yeates sends 267,000 from his stack to the TV guy.

The elimination of Team Pro JJ Liu brought the field down to 32 players, and the end of tonight's play is creeping closer also.

Day 1A came to a close with 24 minutes remaining in Level 17 as that was the point we were down to 15 percent of the starting field. Tonight will stop at the same point, and Day 2 will restart from that mark, then from Level 18 it is 40-minute levels until the final table that plays 50-minute levels.

OK We Admit it

We are gathered under the TV monitor watching Jordan Spieth 3-putt 16 to fall into a 3-way tie, then miss his eagle putt on 18, but tap in for birdie ... only to see DJ BOMB his tee shot on 18, NAIL his approach to have 12 feet FTW ... then roll it 4 feet past and MISS the comebacker to lose the Open

Um, I mean, we are down to 59 players in the Masters Poker Series $400 and players have gone on a 15-minute break.
Blinds go to 1000/2000 when they return.

Entertaining Trio

The 1-2-3 seats over at table 81 are enjoying themselves and helping themselves to the chips of others also.

The 1 seat is none other than 2009 WSOP Main Event runner-up Darvin Moon (62,000 chips). On his left is Puyallup, Washington's Dave Price (152,000), and on Dave's left is Marry Gorenc (52,000).

The conversation is fun, a bit of poker, a bit of life in general, but the poker is solid and tough to get through.

Win Your Main Event Seat Here

Come to Binion's each of the next two Thursdays - June 25 and July 2 - and win your way into the WSOP Main Event from one of the best satellite structures anywhere around.

Start with 10,000 chips, play 30-minute levels, open at 25/25 blinds and there's a Main Event seat for every 20 entries in the $500+50 buyin event.

Time and again we're seeing people move all in as a semi-short stack with top pair. Most of the time, however, they are running in to an overpair.
What does that say?

When a Shortstack, Lon, Avoid Gavin

As a shortstack, Lon McEachern may not have liked being moved onto the right of Gavin Smith ... McEachern is down to about 4000 chips from the 20,000 starting stack and we've gone VultureCam on him ...

Joe Walior moves all in with AK, only to be called by ... yep, AA.

The board runs out 2-J-9-3-4 and off goes Joe to check out Fremont Street this afternoon.

Dave's Not Here, Man

Dave Price of Puyallup, WA ran well in this event last year and had a deep run in an earlier Binion's Poker Classic event this year.

Today, however, was not the case.

"I just could not get any traction at all," said Price. "I'll be back tomorrow."

Price was all-in on his final hand with AQ against 99, and the board ran out 5-8-2-3-5 to bring his day to an end in Level 7.

Two players have cracked the 70,000-chip barrier her after the first six 35-minute levels of play.

Paul Vecchio - Championship Champion

Paul Vecchio - 1st Place - Binion's Poker Classic $1k Championship

Coming back from a 4-1 deficit heads-up, Paul Vecchio takes down the 9th Annual Binion's Poker Classic $1k Championship.

Vecchio's Q8 on the final hand bettered Reuben Hoang's J8 on a Q♦J♥3♦ flop, after the two had agreed an hour earlier to an ICM chop when Hoang has a better than 2-01 chiplead going into heads-up play.

The two agreed to the chop, then play for the final $2,000 in the prize pool, the Championship title and the trophy, all that went to Vecchio.

Reuben Hoang - 2nd Place

Paul Vecchio moves all in on a 3♦J♥Q♦ flop and Reuben Hoang makes the call

Vecchio - Q8
Hoang - J8

The board runs out A♦4♥, Vecchio has Hoang covered and Hoang takes 2nd place with the agreed chop.

Reuben Hoang - 2nd Place - $31,509

Color Up and Skip

Paul Vecchio just doubled through Reuben Hoang when a 2 on the river gave him a 6-high straight.

Players have agreed to skip the next level (15000/30000/4000 ante) bumping it to 20000/40000/5000 ante) coloring up all the $1k chips and reducing the levels to 30 minutes

Hoang - 2,820,000
Vecchio 1,650,000

Hoang Rolling

Reuben Hoang has been the most consistent player all through Day 2 of this $1k Championship and he is moving closer to the tirle.

Heads-up with Paul Vecchio, Hoang has taken about half of Vecchio's chips since HU play started after the two agreed to an ICM Chop.

Hoang has about 3.7 million to the 800,000 of Vecchio now as the two players race for the last $2,000, the Championship title and a recently-found trophy for the winner.
